Cake Decorating Class

Some of you may recall me mentioning a while back that I was doing a cake decorating course. It was only a six week basic course but I had never in my life decorated a big cake. I was quite
accepting of the fact that I would never be volunteering to make a Christmas or Wedding cake.
The course was really fun - it was full of other people who like me baked for fun. One of the main things that I learnt on the course was how to ice a cake with rolled fondant.
Look what I managed to do!!

This was my first attempt at home using a real cake. I covered the cake with marzipan and rolled fondant so felt doubly pleased with myself.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't think I will be volunteering for Christmas cake duty at any time soon but it has inspired me to do something special for Hubby and mine's first Wedding Anniversary which is coming up soon!
